It is well known the DEC promised Herb Darling, Sr. his Zoar Valley land gift would be left in its natural wild state (promise broken), but did you know the DEC also promised Mr. Darling the surrounding forests would be retained as a “buffer zone” for recreational and naturalist pursuits? NYS DEC is poised to break that promise in a big way, too.
